केंद्र सरकार ने देश में 50 नए मेडिकल कॉलेज खोलने को मंजूरी दी है, जिससे आने वाले समय में मेडिकल सीटों की संख्या में काफी बढ़ जाएगी. मीडिया रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक, मौजूदा मेडिकल कॉलेज में करीब 2 हजार सीटों को जोड़ने का फैसला किया गया है. जिसके बाद अब देश में MBBS सीटों की संख्या 1 लाख के पार हो गई है. इसके साथ ही, केंद्र सरकार ने इस साल 50 नए मेडिकल कॉलेज खोलने को मंजूरी दी है. इनमें 30 मेडिकल कॉलेज सरकारी होंगे और 20 प्राइवेट मेडिकल कॉलेज खोले जाएंगे. जानकारी के मुताबिक, मंजूर किए गए 50 नए मेडिकल कॉलेज देश के 15 राज्यों में खोले जाएंगे. नए मेडिकल कॉलेज के बाद MBBS में 6,200 सीटें जुड़ जाएंगी, जिसके बाद देश भर में मेडिकल सीटों की संख्या बढ़कर 1,07,658 हो जाएगी.
