टमाटर भले ही देश भर के लोगों को रूला रहा है. लोगों की थाली से गायब हो गया हो. लेकिन इसने हिमाचल के मंडी में जयराम सैनी के चेहरे पर मुस्कान ला दी है. 52 साल से टमाटर की खेती करने वाले जयराम ने जितना मुनाफा इस सीज़न में कमा लिया. उतना कभी कमाया ही नहीं. उनके मुनाफे का अंदाजा इसी बात से लगाया जा सकता है कि टमाटर की फसल ने उन्हें करोड़पति बना दिया है. 67 साल के जयराम ने 8 हजार क्रेट टमाटर की बेच दी हैं. जबकि 500 क्रेट अभी और बेचने वाले हैं. 8000 क्रेट टमाटर से उनकी आय 1 करोड़ 10 रुपए हो चुकी है. जयराम ने 60 बीघा जमीन में टमाटर का बीज बोया था. कुछ फसल बर्बाद होने के बावजूद उन्हें अच्छा मुनाफा मिला.
