मालदीव की अर्थव्यवस्था में भारत का बड़ा योगदान है और कई चीजों को लेकर वो पूरी तरह से भारत पर निर्भर है. लेकिन मालदीव में चीन समर्थित सरकार के सत्ता में आने के बाद से भारत के साथ उसके रिश्तों में खटास आ गई है. लेकिन जब संकट में फंसे मालदीव ने मदद मांगी तो भारत ने आगे बढ़कर उसकी मदद की.
