आज उत्तराखंड विधानसभा में UCC यानी यूनिफॉर्म सिविल कोड बिल पेश किया गया. इसी के साथ उत्तराखंड, आजादी के बाद इस दिशा में कदम बढ़ाने वाला देश का पहला राज्य बन गया है. इस विधेयक के जरिए एक समान कानून व्यवस्था सुनिश्चित की जाएगी. बिल के ड्राफ्ट में शादी, तलाक प्रक्रिया से जुड़े अहम बिंदुओं को भी शामिल किया गया है. जानकारों की मानें तो ये समान न्यायिक व्यवस्था के लिए ऐतिहासिक पहल है.
Uttarakhand has taken a step towards big changes by introducing Uniform Civil Code Bill. According to the bill presented in the Uttarakhand Assembly, the age of the boy for marriage should be 21 years and the age of the girl should be 18 years. Registration of marriage will be necessary under Section 6.
