In the finals, the first two rounds were not won and both these games ended in a draw. The winner of the World Cup was decided on Thursday through a tiebreaker, where Carlsen won the first rapid game of 25 minutes. The second game ended in a draw and Magnus Carlsen managed to win the World Cup for the first time since 2021.
